Sustainable Sakonnet is about making life more sustainable at home, at work, and in the community.
While based in the Tiverton/Little Compton area (a.k.a., Sakonnet) of Rhode Island, USA, much of the content you'll find here is helpful no matter where you live. From tips and DIY projects to opinions and commentary to news and events from around the area, Sustainable Sakonnet has a little something for everyone.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Thanks for passing through, I'm Bill Gerlach. Like many of you, I juggle home, family, work, and a bunch of other commitments. Launched in February 2007, this blog has really been about chronicling my efforts to lessen our family's environmental footprint and engage the broader community to think about and tackle issues that impact our environmental vitality.
At the highest level, I believe in re-defining and creating sustainable and prosperous communities; I believe in simpler, more rewarding living at all levels.
When not working on Sustainable Sakonnet, you can find me writing at my other blog, The New Pursuit. From time to time you can catch me at ecoRI.org and The Gerlach Garden Journal.
I am truly grateful that you have stopped by. Feel free to contact me with questions or inquiries about speaking engagements. You can follow me on Twitter too.
Be Well,
Bill
